¡Hola, bienvenidos! I’m Arvyn Cerézo. I’m a writer/journalist covering arts, culture, books, and technology.
I write for Publishers Weekly, AudioFile Magazine, Asian Review of Books, and Book Riot. I also love learning languages. I have an English degree, and I’m currently working on my Spanish level C1.

In addition to reviewing books about or of relevance to Asia, the Asian Review of Books also features long-format essays by leading Asian writers and thinkers. It provides an unparalleled forum for discussion of key contemporary issues by Asians for Asia. ARB is a vehicle of intellectual depth and breadth where leading thinkers can write on the books, arts and ideas of the day. As a Book Critic, I exclusively review Philippine literature in English.
Book Riot is the largest independent editorial book site in North America, and home to a host of media, from podcasts to newsletters to original content, all designed around diverse readers and across all genres. As a Contributing Writer, I write news and feature stories about books and publishing.
Publishers Weekly, familiarly known in the book world as PW and “the bible of the book business,” is a weekly news magazine focused on the international book publishing business. It is targeted at publishers, booksellers, librarians, literary agents, authors, and the media. It offers feature articles and news on all aspects of the book business, bestsellers lists in a number of categories, and industry statistics, but its best known service is pre-publication book reviews, publishing some 9,000 per year. As a Book Reviewer, I critique Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror books. Some responsibilities also include interviewing authors and writing profiles.
AudioFile Magazine is a print and online magazine whose mission is to review unabridged and abridged audiobooks, original audio programs, commentary, and dramatizations in the spoken-word format. The focus of reviews is the audio presentation, not the critique of the written material. As a Book Reviewer, I critique audiobooks focusing on literary fiction, classics, poetry, and young adult.
Anvil Publishing, Inc., the publishing arm of National Book Store, is an eleven-time Publisher of the Year awardee as cited by the Manila Critics Circle. During my stay at Anvil, I produced e-books and distributed them to all major retailers such as Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, Google Play, etc., boosting overall e-book sales by 55% in 2017. In 2018, I produced Anvil’s first audiobook (Dear Universe by Pierra Calasanz-Labrador and narrated by Joyce Pring), the first in the Philippines, that increased the company’s press coverage and improved its market recognition.
Avalon English is the leading after-school education company teaching English language communication skills to primary and secondary school students in South Korea. At Avalon, I proofread submitted essays of the students of Avalon English and provided corrections and feedback to the essays submitted.
