I’ve been using Twitter since November 2009, and I used to freely share my thoughts there when it wasn’t as popular.
Twitter was a witness to many events in my life. Back then, it was a place where my friends and I would share stuff that we weren’t comfortable sharing on Facebook. When I first entered the industry, it became a platform for me to showcase my selected works. As a journalist, it’s where I get scoops and leads for my next pieces.
Something unexpected occurred, however. Since He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named acquired Twitter in 2022, I’ve considered leaving. Whenever I read about crazy things happening on that platform, I’m astonished.
The final trigger occured after the U.S. elections. With every article I read about his political involvement and narcissism, I couldn’t bear renting in his building any longer.

“Out with the old, in with the new!”
So, this week, I packed my bags and headed for Bluesky. If you’ve previously followed me on Twitter and want to reconnect, you can do so by following me to see my most recent work or what I’m up to.
You may also be wondering why I’m not heavily promoting my Threads account, but because it’s owned by another megalomaniac, I never use it except to grab my handle.
My old Twitter account is still there to serve as a placeholder for my handle (I’ve read that bots grab deleted handles to churn out garbage, so keeping my account there is a good idea.)
See you on Bluesky!
